Theoretical model of intracranial media ultrasonic attenuation measurement method
Abstract
The theoretical model of intracranial media attenuation measurement method with compensation of the influence of skull bones and external tissues is investigated. This method could be implemented with a new ultrasonic time-of-flight measurement technique and could be applied for non-invasive intracranial volume and pressure monitoring. The analysis of possible errors caused by ultrasonic signal dispersion, diffraction, attenuation is performed using the simulation methods of ultrasound pulse propagation through the human head. Also the diffraction correction algorithm for intracranial parenchyma tissue attenuation measurement is presented.Downloads
