Abstract

Using Pseudo Noise Code Sequences due to their enough good exclusion features in multi-channel distance measuring systems enables to perform simultaneous distance measurement in many directions. It simplifies the multi-channel distance measuring system and accelerates measurement process. Such quality criteria as: narrow correlation function, low level of side lobes, cross-correlation function close to zero, sequences as short as possible with all before mentioned requirements, are applied in these systems. The set or family of code sequences consists of a number of sequences, fulfilling all listed requirements. A special computer program, developed for analyzing code sequences allows to select code sequences, which are meeting, the above listed quality criteria and analyze the obtained qualitative parameters of sequences. Results of computer modeling performed by using the above mentioned program show, that not all optimization criteria give the aimed result, all optimization criteria give rather big spill of results and some of optimization criteria are not suitable for code sequences optimization and using them in distance measuring systems.
