Color Doppler imaging of the ophthalmic artery in early age-related maculopathy
Abstract
Purpose: The aim of this study was to assess hemodynamic changes in the ophthalmic artery in patients with early are-related maculopathy (ARM).
Methods: Color Doppler imaging was used to calculate blood flow velocities and vascular resistance of the ophthalmic artery in 27 patients with early ARM and in control patients.
Results: The average peak systolic velocity, end-diastolic velocity, Gosling’s pulsatility index and the resistivity index in the ophthalmic artery of the patients with early ARM were similarly with controls.
Conclusions: We did not find the hemodynamic parameters differences in the ophthalmic artery circulation of the patients with early ARM and control.
