Theoretical investigation of surface acoustic waves, propagating on periodically corrugated surfaces of GaAs
Abstract
Here we consider the propagation of surface acoustic waves (SAW) on corrugated surfaces of GaAs employing the Floquet theorem. The dispersion curves obtained are consistent with those describing the propagation of bulk electromagnetic waves in structures with periodically varying dielectric permitivity. The results obtained for the [110] propagating direction on the (001) and (-1,1,2) cuts enable to explain the difference in operation of acoustoelectric resonators fabricated on the two cuts.Published
